Oxford House Sober Living Homes
Oxford house sober living homes at California Recovery were opened as a result of
people completing our program. Many asked to stay with us longer to strengthen their foundation. These alumni who completed taking the first steps into recovery still needed structure. They wished to reside in a safe place as they worked to grow in their sobriety.
We all know that 10-30 days of treatment is not enough time to break free from the old ideas and lifestyle. After using for years it takes more than detox and a 30 day program to get your life back. In order for you to return to society there is a transitional period. This period requires a safe, structured and sober environment to continue to progress.
These homes still retain much of the structure of our treatment phase. All residents are also required to submit to random drug tests. They must hold a job, do a daily chore and work with newcomers in one of our detox houses.
As Oxford House sober living homes each house is run as a democracy. Each house has an elected president that runs a weekly meeting. The entire house meets to check in and discuss any issues they had over the week. This is a time to process struggles that have come up during day-to-day life. This is the most important part of sober living. You are able to walk through these troubled times with the help of other sober people.
For those who have graduated our program and proven they can maintain sobriety while living, working (a job and a program), and being of service we offer another step into the world. The next step after being in one of our Oxford House sober living homes is one of our living sober
homes. These homes have no manager. The residents are responsible only to themselves and their housemates. Although there is no manager in these homes there is a live in staff member to enforce curfew and randomly drug test. These homes have very few rules other than staying sober. The residents go to work, attend meetings and begin to live their lives again.
Many residents find the time they spend in sober living as indispensable to obtaining long-term sobriety. Our Oxford House sober living homes give them the strength and structure needed to live long, happy and sober lives. Call Today for more information (949) 678-0761.
